Your first exhibition in China: return with a purchasing plan as well as catalogues
An exhibition in China can introduce you to many products and potential partners in a few days. But hundreds of stands can easily become a stack of similar catalogues and business cards. To make the trip useful for your business, prepare before buying a ticket.

Define your goal
Are you looking for a new product, comparing materials, meeting manufacturers or discussing private-label production? Your answer determines which stands and meetings belong on your route. Write down three to five questions and the product characteristics you must not overlook.
Research the exhibition in advance
Check the themes, exhibitor list and registration rules on the organiser’s website. For example, the official Canton Fair website is https://www.cantonfair.org.cn/en-US . Confirm dates, venue, the focus of each phase and entry rules before travelling, as these can change.
What to ask at a stand
Record the company name, contact details and the person’s role. Ask about product specifications, possible modifications, minimum order quantity, sample terms and approximate timelines. Photograph products that interest you and immediately connect each photograph to the contact and notes, obtaining the exhibitor’s permission where required.
An exhibition meeting starts negotiations; it does not replace supplier checks. After the trip, compare offers, request documents and samples, clarify terms and agree the next steps.
How Horizon Trans can help
We can discuss trip preparation, supplier sourcing, meeting arrangements, accompaniment or interpretation, and then help connect negotiations with samples, purchasing and delivery. The scope of support is agreed separately.
